NEW ORLEANS - After a prolonged waiting period, Tulane's men's basketball team is officially losing its leading scorer and rebounder.
Josh Davis will play his final collegiate season at San Diego State, according to CBSSports.com.
Fellow Tulane transfer Marc Eddy Norelia has also found a new home, choosing Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday. Norelia, a Orlando, Fla. native, played sparingly as a freshman, averaging just 1.8 minutes in nine games as a backup forward.
Davis, a first-team all-Conference USA selection, completed his exams this week and is expected to graduate from Tulane, but still has one year of eligibility remaining, allowing him to transfer without sitting out for a season. Davis was granted his release in early April, along with five other Green Wave players, but still had the option to return to Tulane.
The Aztecs earned Davis' pledge before the 6-foot-8 forward even took his scheduled visits to fellow suitors Gonzaga and Ohio State.
