ST. FRANCISVILLE —West Feliciana Parish sheriff’s deputies investigating a string of burglaries arrested five people, including the operator of a local vehicle towing company, Sheriff J. Austin Daniel said Monday.
Daniel said Jarred Wunstel, 37, 8567 Muscadine Lane, St. Francisville, is accused of buying items stolen in residential and hunting camp burglaries, including firearms.
A search of Wunstel’s property turned up three stolen firearms, a firearm with an obliterated serial number, a stolen flat-screen television and two types of suspected illegal narcotics, Daniel said.
In addition to charges stemming from the stolen property, Wunstel also may face federal firearms counts for a homemade silencer and sawed-off shotgun found during the search, the sheriff said.
Wunstel has a zoning request for a salvage yard pending before the Police Jury, the sheriff added.
Daniel said deputies solved six burglaries spanning a period of several months and recovered a stolen four-wheeler, another flat-screen television and a total of four weapons.
Deputies also booked four other St. Francisville residents:
