GONZALES — Three Ascension Parish residents were arrested Wednesday when deputies uncovered an apparent drug deal on South Sammy Avenue.
Narcotics detectives observed a vehicle driven by Michael Farr, 49, of St. Amant, stopped in the middle of the road, Maj. Kevin Hanna with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
After detectives discovered Farr to be in possession of several Hydrocodone pills, they booked Farr into the Ascension Parish jail on one count of drug possession.
The vehicle’s two passengers, Gaylyn Cashio, 43, of St. Amant, and Melody Chategnier, 38, of Gonzales, also were arrested following the traffic stop.
Cashio was found to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, Hanna said, and she also had active warrants for trespassing and entering or remaining after being forbidden. Chategnier, meanwhile, was wanted by State Police on warrants for driving while intoxicated, reckless operation and hit-and-run.
Both Cashio and Chategnier also were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. All three remained incarcerated on Thursday, awaiting bail hearings.
