Registration for the Carter Plantation Community Association fourth annual golf tournament starts at 11:30 a.m. Monday.The tournament begins at 1 p.m. at the Carter Plantation Golf Course in Springfield. It is open to the first 36 registered paid teams, and the format is a shotgun start, 4-man scramble.

Albany Middle School holds its annual Awards Day program on May 16 in the school cafeteria, 29675 Reeves St.
Eighth-grade awards will be at 7:25 a.m., seventh-grade awards at 8:50 a.m., sixth-grade awards at 9:40 a.m., and fifth-grade awards at 10:30 a.m.
Bead Art workshops
Artist Stephan Wanger’s Bead Town traveling art exhibit employs a unique mosaic art form using recycled Mardi Gras beads to depict the landscapes and lifestyles of Louisiana.
During the exhibit’s run at Old City Hall, 115 Mattie St., Denham Springs, Wanger will offer workshops to teach his method to adults and children ages 8 and older, and they will help him create three original pieces that will join his art tour.
The workshops Wednesdays and Thursdays are free, but registration is required. At other workshops on Thursday evenings, participants will create and take home their own beaded mask or picture frame.

Chamber expo on Tuesday
The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce holds its Business & Community Expo, featuring more than 100 businesses, on Tuesday at the Suma Center, at the Interstate 12 Satsuma exit.

The Livingston Council on Aging is holding its membership drive through Wednesday.

Mother’s Day makeover
Walker United Methodist Church, 30167 Stump St., will hold a makeover day for mothers in celebration of Mother’s Day beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. Organizers ask that those interested come with pre-washed hair.
