‘Spamalot, the Musical’

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” Tony Award winning musical “Spamalot” is a goofy spin on the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Holy Grail with tap dancing knights, sassy showgirls and, yes, flying cows. Opens Friday and continues Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., and June 28-30. At the Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts, 325 Minor St., Kenner. Tickets start at $30. Call (504) 461-9475.

Prelude to
Pride festival

The UNO St. Claude Gallery, 2429 St. Claude Ave., will host film screenings Saturday starting at 6 p.m., including “The Sons of Tennessee Williams” by Tim Wolff, illuminating the way that the gay Mardi Gras krewe scene was a seminal factor in the cause of gay liberation in the South. It’s a prelude to a pop-up exhibition in conjunction with New Orleans Pride Festival June 22-23 and June 29-30. For more information, contact truecolorsneworleans@gmail.com.
