Projecting what the Saints will do Saturday
Pick 144 — Denard Robinson, Michigan, ATH, 5-10, 199
Robinson was considered a Heisman contender as the Wolverines quarterback, but everyone knew his future lay as a receiver/special teams guy. Robinson lacks great speed, but he can change direction and could even be the slot/hybrid type like Darren Sproles. Robinson is OK with not being a quarterback anymore, but it would be interesting seeing him lining up in a wildcat every now and then.
Pick 183 — Cory Grissom, DT, South Florida, 6-1, 306
A low center of gravity is always an asset for a 3-4 nose tackle, and Grissom has that. He’s got strong legs and loves to attack centers. The Saints won’t be expecting their nose tackles to make that many plays outside the box so that’s in Grissom’s favor as well. Grissom had to overcome injuries for the past couple of years, but if he can avoid them in training camp, there’s a probable roster spot for him.
