ST. FRANCISVILLE — A Mandeville firm will hold a second interview session Friday with West Feliciana Parish residents interested in receiving training for work in the oil and gas industry.
Dennis Manshack, director of the parish Economic Development Board, said the interviews, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fire Protection District 1 headquarters, 9892 West Feliciana Parkway, will be used to gauge the interest of parish residents interested in receiving entry-level training.
The second interviews are for the convenience of residents who were unable to attend a day session earlier this month, Manshack said.
The board is interested in having the firm, PEC, offer its Oil Patch Preparation System program to West Feliciana Parish.
The 10-day training sessions provide participants an opportunity “to get a foot in the door” through certification training for oil and gas industry work, Manshack said.
The cost of the training is $500 per student and placement assistance will be offered to those who complete the course, Manshack said. All applicants must be able to pass a drug screening test before they are selected for training, he said.
