Duke & The King, a documentary and concert film, will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Manship Theatre. The film focuses on Baton Rouge singer-songwriter Duke Bardwell’s time as a member of Elvis Presley’s TCB band.

Bardwell performed with rhythm-and-blues bands in the early 1960s and later worked with Tom Rush, Jose Feliciano, Gene Clark and Emmylou Harris. He was a member of Presley’s band in 1974 and 1975.
Bardwell will perform before the screening. Following the screening, he and filmmakers Kris Wheeler and Wayne Franklin will take questions from the audience. Tickets, priced at $15, are available at http://www.manshiptheatre.org and by calling (225) 344-0334.
