The Ascension Parish Recycling Road Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wal-Mart store in Prairieville.
A recycling vehicle will be stationed in the parking lot to collect a variety of recyclable items.

Ascension parish Assessor M.J. “Mert” Smiley has canceled his Thursday community meet in the Central and Lake communities.
Nell Ervin, a spokeswoman for the office, said an unforeseen scheduling conflict forced the cancellation.
She said the meeting will be rescheduled at a later date.
The Gonzales Garden Club’s annual plant and bake sale is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10 at Gonzales City hall, 120 S. Irma Blvd.
Garden Club members will have a variety of house and other plants on sale.
The East Ascension High School Spartanette Dance Camp is set for June 24 to June 28 in the school’s gym.
The five-day camp, designed for girls ages 3 and older, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon each day with a Friday Night Show-Off event.

Prairieville resident Christopher Harr has been reappointed to serve on the state Advisory Committee on Polysomnography, a news release from the Governor’s Office says.
The Advisory Committee on Polysomnography serves to assist the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners in all matters relating to polysomnography, the release says.
Harr is a technical director at the Premier Sleep Medicine Center in Baton Rouge.
Registration is underway for the Ascension Parish Library’s Winnie the Pooh Mothers’ Day Tea Party.
The party is set for 10 a.m. May 11 at the Ascension Parish Library in Dutchtown.
The party will include stories, games and a craft gift for moms.

Donaldsonville Youth Flag Football is opening registration for its summer six-week program for children ages 5-13, director Mark Peters said.
Registration continues through May 25. Games will be played on Saturday mornings in Donaldsonville. The fee for the program is $40.
Peters also is conducting registration for his Gonzales adult flag football league for women and men.
Games will be played in Gonzales on Sunday evenings starting June 1, he said.
Women will play at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s games will be at 6:30 p.m.
