Just like the rest of New Orleans, and music lovers everywhere, the New Orleans Public Library is extremely excited about the 2013 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The library is honoring this year’s cultural feast in several ways. Fifty CDs by artists who will be performing at this year’s Jazz Fest are being featured on our website catalog throughout April and May.
Just like the performers scheduled for this year’s Jazz Fest, the CDs in the Jazz Fest 2013 catalog cover a wide range of musical tastes and genres. Library customers can easily borrow and listen to the work of Dr. John, Frank Ocean, Galactic, Irma Thomas, the Black Keys and many more Jazz Fest performers.
In addition, the library will be hosting the Honeypots, who will just be coming off their Jazz Fest performance, live at the Main Library, 219 Loyola Ave., at noon Tuesday. This popular local group blends acoustic guitar, cello, percussion and harmonies to create unique spins on their original compositions as well as beloved covers.
The concert lets the library bring a little taste of Jazz Fest to you.
Happy Jazz Fest everyone!
