Cabrini High School students in the Junior Learning Service program served more than 400 needy people at the St. Joseph’s Rebuild Center, along with the Presentation Sisters’ Lantern Light Ministries.
The Cabrini Junior Learning Service program focuses on poverty in the community.
After the students visited the traditional St. Joseph Day altar at the St. Joseph’s Rebuild Center, they assisted in serving more than 400 parishioners, pilgrims and the poor. St. Joseph is revered in the Italian community, and the celebration at St. Joseph’s Church has become an important part of the Lenten season for many in New Orleans.
Cabrini High School students who served the needy at St. Joseph’s Rebuild Center were Chelsey London (Gretna), Kaitlyn Arena (Kenner), Rachel Lofthus (Metairie), Sarah Ulmer (Metairie), Kalie Cavanagh (Marerro) and Lauren Hartung (Terrytown); Rebuild friend “Steadman,” Martinque Higgins (Harvey), Monique Gervais (Metairie), Claire Jones (Marerro), Celeste Scheuermann (Chalmette), Genevieve Brilli (Marrero), Dana Porche (New Orleans) and Micaela Glowacki (Metairie); as well as Taylor Brignac (Gretna), Rebecca Boyett (Metairie), Rebecca Green (Marrero), WenXiu “Vicky” Hu (Arabi) and Bailey Gstohl (New Orleans).
