A number of Southern University Agricultural Center students won top awards at the 17th Biennial Research Symposium held in Jacksonville, Fla., this week.
Southern AgCenter students studying in the agricultural sciences gave oral presentations and submitted a number of research projects for consideration in a competition featuring close to 400 students from 18 universities.

The event, themed “1890 Research: Sowing Seeds of Change for the Global Community,” is put on by the Association of 1890 Research Directors. It is open to students enrolled in land grant universities.
The symposium is intended to promote the training of young agricultural researchers in ways that benefits their states, region and the nation.
