Paralegals to hear lawmaker at conference in New Orleans

The National Federation of Paralegal Association’s Joint Conference will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Marriott Hotel, 859 Convention Center Blvd., in New Orleans

The conference, hosted by the New Orleans Paralegal Association, offers paralegals the opportunity to network and share ideas with their national colleagues.

On Friday, the Regulation Conference, open to all paralegals, will feature state Rep. Walt Leger III, who will provide an overview of Louisiana legislation.

The Leadership Conference, on Saturday, is open only to NFPA members and will feature paralegal speakers on such topics as leadership, social media and volunteer recruitment.

From Saturday to Sunday at noon, the Certification Conference, open only to NFPA members, will feature information and resources regarding the Paralegal Advanced Certification Exam and the Paralegal Core Competency Exam.

The conference is free to NFPA members. Nonmembers may attend the Regulation portion of the conference for $75. Lunch is optional at $20 per person per day.
