Auditions will be held Sunday for free day and evening dance camps for youth 9-18 offered by the NORDC/NOBA Center for Dance, a partnership of the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission and the New Orleans Ballet Association.
Visiting instructors will include dancers from San Francisco Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Parsons Dance, Alonzo King LINES Ballet and Ballet Hispanico.
Auditions, open to students with at least two years of ballet training, will be held at Tulane University’s McWilliams Hall. Students 9-12 should register at 1 p.m. for auditions 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.; those 13-18 should register at 3:30 p.m. for auditions 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
About 100 students will be accepted for eight weeks of tuition-free advanced training: summer intensive day and evening camps July 10-Aug. 2 and the Chevron Master Artist Series, June 3-28.
