The Trombone Shorty Foundation was founded in 2012 by New Orleans musician Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews.
The foundation’s flagship program is Trombone Shorty Academy, a partnership with Tulane University’s New Orleans Center for the Gulf South, which focuses on music history and teaches high school musicians ensemble performance while developing business skills.
The goal is to nurture New Orleans’ musical heritage by cultivating the next generation of New Orleans performers.
Tickets to Shorty Fest are available online and start at $40. Doors open at 8 p.m., with the concert starting at 9 p.m. For tickets or more information, visit http://www.tromboneshortyfoundation.org.
