The sun was beginning its descent and a nice breeze was keeping things cool for the Jefferson Beautification’s annual Parkway Promenade soirée at the Chateau Golf & Country Club in Kenner April 7. The theme for this year’s fundraiser, chaired by Joy Shane and Diane Hollis, was “Going International.” Proceeds from the event are used for beautification, tree planting, environmental projects and education in Jefferson Parish.
Welcoming guests as they arrived were Rachel Schultz, the 76th Greater New Orleans Floral Trail Queen; Floral Maid Ella Maria Workman; and Flower Queen Kaelynn Steltz. Among those guests were Kenner Mayor Michael Yenni and wife Michelle.
In keeping with the theme, food and wines represented 10 international cuisines. Participating restaurants included Acme Oyster House, Chateau Golf & Country Club, Zea Rotisserie and Martin’s Wine Cellar. Music for dancing was by the Groovy Seven.
