Local community leaders are hosting a major fundraising event at Generations Hall next Wednesday, April 17 for NOPD Officer John Passaro who was severely injured after he was shot several times during a robbery on Poland Street in the Bywater.
“Rock n Roll” for Passaro will include food catered by various local restaurants and chefs, and an extraordinary musical lineup featuring live performances by the Wise Guys, Charmaine Neville, Kingsroe, Kandee Side and the Bucktown Allstars. The event, which will benefit Officer Passaro’s family, will be held from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Generations Hall located in the Warehouse District at 310 Andrew Higgins Drive.
Tickets are $25 per person and are available at any NOPD District Station or Gulf Coast Bank & Trust New Orleans locations (St. Charles, Carrollton and Harrison Avenue). Also, tickets are available online at the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation’s website at www.NOPJF.org
Silent auction items are needed for the event and can be dropped off at 848 Harrison Avenue in Lakeview. Also, arrangements can be made to pick up any silent auction items by contacting Nancy Lytle at 504.539.7281.
Monetary donations are welcome and may be made at any Gulf Coast Bank & Trust branch location in New Orleans, Jefferson, Kenner, Mandeville, Covington, Slidell, St. Bernard, and Baton Rouge.
“With your generous support, we will be able to help Officer Passaro and his family not only meet essential daily needs, but also enable them to focus entirely on his recovery. All proceeds generated will go directly to Officer John Passaro,” said Fifth District Commander Christopher Goodly.
