The North Shore Chapter of the Retired State Employees Association held its annual meeting on March 25 at the Greater Covington Center.

Ed Day was recognized and honored as the chapter’s retiree of the year by Diane Guillot, state president of the Retired State Employees Association and president of the Monroe Chapter, and by Frank Jobert, executive director of RSEA.

Day, who is the outgoing Northshore Chapter president, was presented with a medal noting his dedication and service over the years.

Officers for 2014 were presented. They are President David Thomas, Vice President Beryl Schilling and Secretary Linda Talbert.

The annual meeting included an update from Guillot; an association status report by Jobert; and presentations by Cindy Rougeou, executive director of Louisiana State Employees Retirement System, and Dean Moberley, director of agency services in the Office of Group Benefits.

Participants were asked to bring food items for donation to the Food Bank of Covington and a cash collection was presented to that group.
