Level begins out-of-state expansion

Baton Rouge-based Level Homes expects to open a new single-family housing development in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina this month, the first of three in the city Level chose as it expands beyond the local area.

The move marks Level’s expansion outside of Louisiana, where it has 11 communities. The company said it is considering markets in Texas, Arizona and in Charlotte, N.C.

Ellington Place, in Apex, N.C., will open later this month with a model home and 52 lots for homes starting at about $250,000.

The Estates at WestHigh, in Cary, N.C., will open in June or July with 38 lots for homes starting from $400,000.

Cardinal Oaks, in Durham, N.C., will be completed in late summer with 140 homesites for residences starting from $150,000.

The company said it’s no accident that the 230 new homes in Apex, Cary and Durham cover three different segments of the market.

“We are a builder that provides homes that customers aspire to buy at all income levels,” Todd Waguespack, Level Homes’ managing partner, said in a news release.

“This comes with a deep understanding of any market we enter, and careful planning of our homes and communities before we sell to Level Homes customers.”

Level said its goal is to be a top 10 builder in any market it enters, and provide homes for first-time buyers, those looking to move up and empty nesters.

Level said it works with architects to provide structural and design options so that buyers can customize their homes according to their taste.

“Level Homes’ approach is one that aims to connect with the market, which places prominence on understanding buyers, their personalities and how to suit their lifestyle,” said Briggs Napier III, vice president of sales and marketing.

Level, also known as Level Construction and Development, started in 2000.
