Four finalists have been selected to pitch their businesses in the Second annual LSU Student Incubator Venture Challenge on April 19.
The four finalists are:
ECONOFY: It provides outlet-level control and electricity monitoring accessible from anywhere — paired with an interactive energy efficiency shopping guide so users econofy their home or office.
FROSTED: It’s a gourmet cupcake business in the LSU area that is ready to branch out with a contemporary cupcake truck and vending machines.
ROCK WATER: It’s a doctor-formulated drink designed to aid in kidney stone prevention.
SUPEDUP AUTO LLC: It’s a mobile automobile cleaning and detailing services company, serving local businesses as well as residential customers in Louisiana.
Eighteen student teams submitted business plans in the first round of the competition. A panel of 15 judges, made up of local business professionals and entrepreneurs, evaluated and scored the plans.
In the final round of the Venture Challenge, each business will present its plan in front of an audience and a panel of judges from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge.
A total of $25,000 will be
distributed among the four finalists at the awards reception following the Venture Challenge.
