Baton Rouge police arrested a man accused of a robbery and rape in a BREC park.
Police booked Tyrone Pope, 20, 1431 Fraternity St., Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on Friday on one count each of aggravated rape and armed robbery, booking records show.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Pope approached a man and woman in a car about 12:30 a.m. March 23 at the Anna T. Jordan BREC Park and forced them out of the car at gunpoint.
Pope forced the man to lie facedown on the ground, but left the nude woman standing while he took $18 from the man and the woman’s cellphone, the affidavit says.
Then, Pope allegedly raped the woman while pointing the gun at the man, the affidavit says.
Pope then took the woman to another area of the park, where a second man arrived and allegedly raped her, the affidavit says.
The second man is described as in his mid-20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds, according to police.

Authorities arrested at least 11 people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, booking records show.
