Letter: Inner Wheel thanks participants

The Inner Wheel Club of Baton Rouge was chartered in 1990 to encourage personal service, promote friendship, assist the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge with special projects and fund locally selected charities.

Over the past 23 years, the Inner Wheel has given a total of $1,472,000 to local nonprofits from proceeds generated by our annual Attic Trash and Treasure sale.

This incredible event is staged each year through the tireless efforts of so many. All of our sale items come from generous donors and are collected and stored by hardworking volunteers until the next year’s sale. Our special, heartfelt thanks to all who work so hard to make this event a success each and every year.

This year, for the first time in our sale’s history, the sale was held in Baker at the former Wal-Mart. We extend our sincere appreciation to Wal-Mart and to the city of Baker, with special thanks to their police and fire departments for their warm welcome and support.

Last but not least, thanks to all of our faithful shoppers who followed us on the road to Baker, and also welcome to our first-time shoppers. Through your participation we had the best sale ever, producing valuable contributions to be awarded to selected charities in our community.
