The Living History Association of Jackson is sponsoring an Easter parade in Jackson at 2 p.m. Saturday, beginning on the grounds of Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System’s Jackson facility and continuing on La. 10 and College Street to Centenary State Historic Site.
An Easter egg hunt will be held at Centenary after the parade.
The Dem Dames of the Felicianas organization will have fittings of donated prom dresses from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Drop’n’Go Cleaners on Plank Road in Clinton. Another fitting session will be held during the same hours on April 13.

The West Feliciana Parish School Board, at its March 19 meeting, recognized West Feliciana High School band director Kelvin Jones for recently earning the Teacher of Distinction award from the Baton Rouge Symphony.
The school’s concert band will travel to Natchitoches in April to compete in the Louisiana Music Educators Association’s large band state competition for only the second time in 30 years, Jones said.
The St. Francisville Symphony Association’s spring concert of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra’s musicians will be held at 7 p.m. April 5 at Grace Episcopal Church. The music will be that of Mozart, and tickets ($20 each) are available at the Bank of St. Francisville, from St. Francisville Symphony Association members and from the BRSO at (225) 383-0500.
This is the final concert of the 2012-2013 series, and parents are encouraged to bring their children free of charge to this concert. Dress is casual.

Members of Arts for All will have an art show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 at Market Hall on Royal Street in St. Francisville. Members may submit one piece of art, and visitors will vote for their favorite artist. Admission is free.
Author Rod Dreher, of St. Francisville, will sign copies of his book, “The Little Way of Ruthie Leming,” from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 6 at Grandmother’s Buttons on Royal Street in St. Francisville. The book’s official release is April 9, but the store will have copies on sale, as well as a map of Starhill designed for the book’s inside cover.
