BR man, 19, arrested
in juvenile sex case

A 19-year-old man accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl in December, then threatening to kill her if she told the police, has been arrested.

Baton Rouge police booked Charles Donell Beverly, 2759 Madison Ave., into Parish Prison on Friday on one count of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, according to an affidavit warrant.

The victim told police Beverly visited her house at least twice while no one else was home, the warrant says.

Police make second arrest in robbery

Baton Rouge police Thursday arrested a man accused of robbing the Hobby Lobby on College Drive at 8:36 p.m. Dec. 22 at gunpoint.

Police have booked Jason Kyle Jackson, 27, 3409 Seneca St., Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery, according to an affidavit warrant.

In the warrant, Jackson is accused of entering the building after it closed, running to the victim who was counting the registers and ripping the hand cart containing money from the registers from the victim’s grasp, the warrant says.

The suspect ran out of the store and was picked up by a vehicle waiting nearby, the warrant says.

Police previously booked Aries Devante Jones, 2965 Seneca St., into Parish Prison on Feb. 20 on one count of armed robbery because he was allegedly seen on the security camera footage giving a “thumbs up” to the robber before allowing him into the store.

Authorities book 17 on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least 17 people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday, booking records show.
