We Are the Difference is presenting “Holka Polka: A Fairy Tale Mystery” at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Carl F. Grant Civic Center in Plaquemine.

State Rep. Regina Barrow, D-Baton Rouge, invites Port Allen residents and her District 29 constituents to a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Port Allen City Hall.
Barrow will address any local updates and concerns as well as the upcoming fiscal session of the state Legislature.

The 2013 St. John School Auction will take place Saturday at the Carl F. Grant Civic Center in Plaquemine.
The doors will open at 5 p.m. The silent auction will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and the live auction will start at approximately 8 p.m.
More than 150 silent auction items and more than 50 live auction items will be available.
Food will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Girl Scout Unit 144 in Port Allen will host its Spring Fling dance for girls in kindergarten through eighth grade and their fathers from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park pavilion in Plaquemine.
Girls who are not members of the Girl Scouts are welcome to attend.
Advance tickets are $5 per person and $6 per person at the door. Proceeds will support the Girl Scouts Louisiana East Council and its local programming.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in their “Sunday best.” The event will feature music and food.

The Centre for the Arts will host a benefit concert for Tesa’s Place in New Roads on Saturday featuring two special guest bands Teenage Lobotomy and K9-Love.
Both bands have members who are former instructors of the Centre for the Arts.
Tesa’s Place is a teen gathering place that opened in September next door to the center.
Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased at the studios of the center, located at 1104 W. Main St. in New Roads.
