Affordable Care Act is forum topic at Ochsner Medical Center’s Brent House Hotel

On Thursday at Ochsner Medical Center’s Brent House Hotel, experts from the health care, law, tax and insurance industries will lead a discussion on how businesses will be affected by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Michael Bertaut, health care economist with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana; Charles F. Castille, a lawyer with Adams and Reese; Philip Rebowe, partner-in-charge, Carr, Riggs & Ingram CPAs and advisors; and Carol Solomon, CEO with Peoples Health, will lead the talk.

Afterward, a series of break-out sessions will convene at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero and East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie.

The break-outs are designed to spend more time on specific parts of the PPACA, including a detailed review of the legal, accounting and tax implications, individual and small group plans, and large employer plans and coverage.

The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce offers these programs as a service to the business community. It urges businesses to attend to start planning ahead as major provisions of the legislation that affect employers will take effect in 2014.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
