Argote, Derbes, Graham, Shuffield & Tatje Inc., which has offices in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport, has join with 41 other appraisal firms to form Valbridge Property Advisors.

Naples, Fla.-based Valbridge is a shareholder-owned company, with each office run by the local practice leaders, including an appraiser who holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.

Valbridge said it immediately ranks among the top three national commercial real estate valuation and advisory services firms, with 59 office locations, 145 certified MAIs and 600 staff across the U.S.

New Orleans-based Argote, Derbes, Graham, Shuffield & Tatje Inc. was formed in February 1987 in the merger of the three real estate appraisal and counseling firms. They were Argote, Derbes & Tatje Inc. in New Orleans, W. Ross Shuffield Jr. in Baton Rouge and Marshall F. Graham & Associates Inc. in Shreveport.

The firm covers the Gulf South area.

For a transition period, the firm will be known as Valbridge Property Advisors—Argote, Derbes, Graham, Shuffield & Tatje Inc.

The firm is led by R. Dunbar Argote, Lewis J. Derbes, W. Ross Shuffield Jr., Henry W. Tatje III, Scott H. Adcock and Arthur L. Schwertz, all of whom are now senior managing directors of Valbridge.

“Client demand for a strong independent national commercial property appraisal services firm has driven us to combine with dozens of the best and brightest appraisers across the country to launch Valbridge,” Schwertz said in a news release.

He said the company remains committed its market and clients.

“In fact, as Valbridge we will, over time, provide expanded services and an even higher level of service to our local clients, while also serving regional and national clients based outside the area.”
