Dancers will stage  Coppélia

Lafayette Ballet Theatre and international guest artists will present Coppélia, a full-length classical ballet in three acts, at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette.

Set to a playful score by Leo Delibes and based on original choreography by Arthur Saint-Leon, E.T.A. Hoffman’s Coppélia is a family comedy about a toymaker who attempts to bring his beloved doll to life. Starring in the lead roles are Houston Ballet principal dancers Melody Mennite and Joseph Walsh.

Tickets may be purchased through the Heymann Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.

The Heymann Center box office, (337) 291-5555, is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends during scheduled events. Tickets are priced according to seat location, as follows: front orchestra, $40; back orchestra, $35; first balcony, $30, second balcony, $20. Prices listed do not include Ticketmaster fees.

Students of all ages will receive a 50-percent discount on balcony level tickets. High school and college students with valid ID will receive 50 percent off tickets for any seat in the house still available 30 minutes prior to the performance.
