Photo provided by CINDY WAGNER -- Students demonstrate the physics of breathing -- The seventh-grade students at Holy Ghost Catholic School in Hammond used a model to show the physics of breathing. The model, which was made from a plastic bottle, a plastic zipper bag and a balloon, represented the chest cavity, the diaphragm and the lungs. Students used the model to demonstrate how air moves into and out of the lungs during the respiratory process. Pictured conducting the experiment, from left, are Jude Vitrano and Jonathan Morales.
