The Saturday Red Stick Farmers Market is ready for St. Patrick’s Day with fresh cabbage, carrots and lamb. Chef Celeste Gill will offer suggestions for Irish-themed menu items using produce from the market in the 10 a.m. cooking demonstration in the North Street seating area of the Main Street Market.
The Thursday Market will open during January at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, 6400 Perkins Road. Shoppers should enter off Kenilworth Boulevard, at Irene Drive.
Louisiana Purchase, credit and debit cards are accepted at both locations of the Red Stick Farmers Market.

The Covington Market is open from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday on the side lawn of City Hall, 609 N. Columbia St., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Wednesday at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire.
Music will be provided by Gina Forsyth beginning at 9:30 a.m. In the cooking demonstration, Keith and Nealy Frentz will drive their food truck, Lola Deaux, to the market.
Fresh produce will include greens, chard, broccoli, cauliflower, rutabagas, turnips, Brussels sprouts, carrots, sweet potatoes, green onions, radishes and lettuces.
Seafood, meats, dairy products, eggs, honey, herbs and prepared foods will also be available.

The Crescent City Farmers Market hosts three markets.
On Tuesday, the market is in Uptown, 200 Broadway Street, New Orleans, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursdays find the market in Mid-City, 3700 Orleans Ave., New Orleans, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The market comes downtown on Saturdays, 700 Magazine St., New Orleans, from 8 a.m. until noon.
