Two Jefferson Parish schools were threatened Wednesday morning in telephone calls received at the parish’s 911 center, according to Col. John Fortunato of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 6:36 a.m., a faculty member at Fisher High School in Lafitte called the center reporting that an unidentified male caller had phoned the school, threatening to burn down the facility and harm the children.
At 7:20 a.m., the center received a call from a faculty member at Marrero Academy in Marrero, again reporting that an unidentified male caller had phoned the school threatening to burn down the building and harm the students.
As a result, both schools were placed on lockdown, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office personal were dispatched to the two schools. The investigation is on going.
