Beginner drawing and painting classes for adults, 16 and older, will be from 10 a.m. to noon March 5, 12, 19 and April 1.
The teacher will be Marcia Arnold Eisworth. The cost is $100 per session (a session consists of four classes), and the class capicity is 10.
Participants will need to bring a set of acrylic paints or what they already have, acrylic painting medium, a package of a variety of bristle brushes (small and medium size brushes), a package of paper towels, a container for water, drawing paper pad and an 11-inch-by-14-inch canvas or canvas board, organizers said.
Classes will be at the Arts Council of Livingston Parish, 133 Hummell St., Denham Springs. To register, call the Arts Council of Livingston Parish from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at (225) 664-1168.
Volunteers for Denham Springs High School Project Graduation will sponsor a father-daughter semi-formal ball from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Forrest Grove Plantation, 8743 Stephenson Drive, Denham Springs.
The ball is open to all girls in sixth grade and older and their fathers or father-figures, organizers said.

All proceeds will benefit the 2013 DSHS Project Graduation.
Teen soloist performs
Denham Springs’ soloist Gabe Ragusa, 15, will perform on the nationally televised Tim Janis’ “Celebrate America” PBS Special, which airs on WYES Public Television at 7 p.m. Wednesday and at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The program was taped for the first time in New Orleans on Jan. 16. Ragusa will sing “Nessun Dorma.”
The Friends and Alumni of Live Oak High School will host the Live Oak High School Eagle Gala from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at the North Park Recreation Center.
Tickets are $100 per couple and include dinner for two, music performed by Ampersand, cash prizes, vacation giveaways and silent auction items. Tickets are available at Live Oak High School, Oak Point Fresh Market, Pizza Place and Double D Daiquiris.

The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce scholaship presentation and sponsor recognition event will be April 10 at Carter Plantation, Springfield.
The chamber’s education committee’s purpose is to connect the Chamber and the member business community with students in the local school system.
The chamber will incur full administrative program costs.
