Some time around midnight Sunday/Monday (Feb.24/25), we had a power failure during the area storm. At 1 a.m., I got to wondering how far and wide the outage, was and whether I needed to report it (I usually assume someone else will).
While peering out the window, I saw the flashing yellow lights on top of the utilities truck (Entergy in my case) cruising through our neighborhood. Within a few minutes, I had my power back.
In this day and age, what with automated bill pay and automated business phones when it’s so hard to speak to a live person, I want to use this forum to thank the crew in that truck for coming out in the middle of the night in a storm to restore the electricity that is so easy to take for granted yet so vitally important to the quality of our lives.
