LAFAYETTE — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday was investigating the deaths of a man and woman at their home on Lebesque Road in northern Lafayette Parish.
The man and woman both sustained gunshot wounds, but investigators had yet to determine whether the case was a murder-suicide or whether the victims were shot by someone else, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Kip Judice said.
“We don’t have many answers,” Judice said.
There was no apparent sign of forced entry into the home, Judice said, and investigators had yet to determine if anything was missing.
Investigators responded to the home in the 100 block of Lebesque Road just after 4 p.m. Wednesday after a relative reported finding the bodies, Judice said.
He said the deceased man and woman and two other people, all relatives, lived in the home.
Investigators were still processing the crime scene as of 8 p.m. Wednesday, and the Sheriff’s Office was withholding the identities of the deceased, pending notification of all close relatives, Judice said.
He said the witnesses had reported seeing the man and woman alive at noon Wednesday.
Judice said he did not know if the man and woman were married.
