Ochsner Health System has reopened cardiology clinic services in New Orleans East. The new clinic, called the Ochsner Heart & Vascular Health Center — New Orleans East, offers consultative cardiology services by Dr. Patrick Breaux, Section Head, Consultative Cardiology, and Dr. Gary Rich, FACC. Nutritionist Laura Dean Kerns will speak on prostate cancer and nutrition at 6 p.m. Monday at West Jefferson Medical Center, 1101 Medical Center Blvd., Marrero, in the Marrero/Westwego Classroom.
The AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed and information about HIV/AIDS will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through March 26 at Delgado Community College in the Student Life Center, Building 23, 615 City Park Ave., New Orleans.
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The exhibit will present information about HIV/AIDS and will include 10 sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, all of which were created by people who have lost family members, friends or loved ones to HIV/AIDS. Several of the sections memorialize the deceased loved ones of Delgado faculty, staff and students.
Women’s Retreat 2013, sponsored by the Louisiana Center for Health Equity, will be held Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Mahalia Jackson Elementary School auditorium, 2405 Jackson Ave.
Women 18 and older are invited for free health screenings, information and refreshments.
