East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Monday a 20-year-old man accused of robbing two people at gunpoint Jan. 14 on Gardere Lane.
John Dunbar, 2130 Jake Lane, Sunshine, was booked into Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery, booking records show.
The victims contacted a man on Facebook who had his name listed on the social media site as “John Gotti,” the arrest warrant says.
The two victims agreed to meet the man in the Gardere area, but it does not say why the victims wanted to meet the man, who was later identified as Dunbar.
The victims drove to Gardere and called Dunbar, who asked them to pick him up on Pascagoula Drive, the warrant says.
Dunbar asked the victims to drive him to 2152 Gardere Lane, the warrant says.
Once the group arrived at Gardere, Dunbar exited the vehicle and walked behind an apartment before re-entering the vehicle in the rear seat, the warrant says.
Dunbar then pulled out a gun and demanded the victims’ belongings, taking $12 and a cellphone, the warrant says.
Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked her into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.
Amanda London, 29, 606 Florida Ave., Denham Springs, was booked on one count each of second-offense DWI, speed unreasonable, driver’s license required or expired, resisting an officer, failure to maintain control, careless driving
