Journalist Cokie Roberts, who was slated to speak Tuesday evening at Loyola University as part of its Presidential Centennial Guest Series, will instead speak there April 4, the university said.

Roberts, a veteran journalist with ABC News and political commentator with NPR, has been called to Rome to cover the pope’s resignation.

The lecture will be at 7 p.m. April 4 in Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall.

The next lecture in the Presidential Centennial Guest Series features Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Nicholas Carr at 7 p.m. April 17 in Roussel Hall.

Carr, known for his book “The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains,” will examine how growing dependence on the Internet is influencing the way people’s minds work.

The talk featuring the Rev. James Martin that was originally scheduled for March 18 has been canceled.
