State and Regional Chili Cook-off set March 9-10 at LSU

The Knights of Columbus, Catholic Radio and Audubon Kiwanis will hold the seventh annual Louisiana State and Regional Chili Cook-off from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 9-10 at LSU’s Parker Coliseum.

Sixty contestents will compete in the International Chili Society-sanctioned event for top prize and a chance to move on to the world championship cook-off.

Contestants will compete in four categories: red chili, chili verde, salsa and homestyle chili.

Entries will be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges, and the public will vote for a People’s Choice Award. The competition benefits Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. A plant sale and garden show, spring car show and other events will be held in conjunction with the chili cook-off.
