Man arrested in attack of disabled man

Baton Rouge police arrested a 20-year-old man Sunday accused of striking a disabled man in the head and robbing him at gunpoint, according to a court document.

Police booked Jamarcus Alexander, 1135 Monet Drive, Apt. 6, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery, an affidavit of probable cause says.

Alexander is accused of striking the disabled man in the head with a black handgun, holding him down and stealing $300 at gunpoint, according to the affidavit.

The victim told police he knew his assailant and gave police Alexander’s address, the affidavit says.

Calif. man booked on police battery charge

A California man was booked into Parish Prison after he kicked a Baton Rouge police officer in the face when the officer tried to put leg restraints on him, according to a court record.

Police booked Georgiy A. Tyannikov, 52, 635 Welland Way, Sacramento, Calif., on one count each of battery of a police officer, resisting an officer and disturbing the peace/intoxication, an affidavit of probable cause says.

The incident occurred when security from the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino threw Tyannikov out of the casino and he got into a “disturbance” with another person in the casino’s parking lot, according to the affidavit. Baton Rouge officers arrested Tyannikov and once they put him in the back seat of a patrol unit, he tried to kick out the rear window, the affidavit says. When officers started to put leg restraints on him, he kicked one of them in the face, the affidavit says.

14 arrested on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least 14 people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, booking records show.
