NEW ORLEANS — Drivers should prepare for a series of street closures Sunday for the 2013 Rock ’N’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon.
The first race begins at 7 a.m. in the Central Business District at Poydras and Camp streets. It will continue up Poydras to Rampart Street, turning at Howard Avenue, rounding Lee Circle and continuing down St. Charles Avenue to Audubon Park.
The route will travel back down St. Charles Avenue, where it will turn on Melpomene Street and continue into the French Quarter on Decatur Street and Esplanade Avenue.
The second half of the course will use Marconi and Lakeshore drives. The race will end at City Park.
Parking will be prohibited along the race route, and restrictions will begin late Saturday night. RTA services, including streetcar lines and bus service, will be interrupted along the course. Route change details are available at www.norta.com.
