Hiring under way for Aegis expansion

A $2 million expansion at Aegis Flow Technologies’ Geismar headquarters is set to open in the next few weeks.

Kevin Crochet, president of Aegis, said the expansion will allow the company to consolidate its manufacturing and engineering operations. Aegis designs and manufactures process valves and equipment used in the petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical and paper industries.

While the work will be completed in March, Crochet said Aegis has started hiring workers. The company recently hired seven, bringing its staff up to about 25. Aegis plans to hire another 12 employees over the next few months.

“And if things work out like we hope and we’re able to add another piece of equipment, we could hire 25 more,” he said.

Once the facility on Industrial Drive is completed, Aegis will have a 30,000-square-foot facility with fully automated welding processes and comprehensive materials testing facilities.
