Three men arrested
in shooting at club

Police arrested three men Tuesday accused in a shooting at a club on Dallas Drive and a subsequent police chase.

Police responded to a fight at Club Dreams at 2083 Dallas Drive shortly after midnight, according to affidavits of probable cause for the arrests of the three men.

An officer saw Steven Eric Hill, 19, shoot out of the right rear passenger side window of a blue 2006 Ford Escape and hit someone in the left ankle, the affidavits state.

The vehicle, driven by Rodney Jamal Hill and carrying Steven Hill and Shaun Reginald Hill, fled the scene but was chased by police, the affidavits say.

The Escape eventually stopped at 1701 Duchess Drive, where Steven Hill and Rodney Hill tried to run away but Shaun Hill lay on the ground, the affidavits say.

Steven Hill ran into a home on Windsor Drive before officers caught him, the affidavits say. He told officers he had a gun but didn’t fire it.

Police also eventually caught Rodney Hill, who told officers he initially refused to stop because of possible warrants for his arrest, the affidavits state.

Shaun Hill told police he heard gunshots at the club but was too drunk to know if anyone had been shooting from the Escape, the affidavits say.

Steven Hill was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of attempted second-degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting, illegal use of a weapon, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

Rodney Hill and Shaun Hill were booked on one count each of principal to attempted second-degree murder, principal to assault by drive-by shooting and principal to illegal use of a weapon. Rodney Hill was booked on an additional count of aggravated flight from an officer.

All three men listed their address at 797 Holt Drive, Baton Rouge. Police were unable to say if the men are related.

Deputies probe thefts from state vehicles

East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s detectives are searching for whoever burglarized and shot up several Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control vehicles Thursday at the department’s complex on Archives Avenue.

One vehicle had several items missing, including a state-issued bulletproof vest, according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.

Detectives responded to the Alcohol and Tobacco Control complex parking garage and learned that several vehicles had been burglarized and four had been damaged by gunshots, the release says.

Photographs show a dark colored, newer model sedan as the vehicle that might have been driven by the burglar, the release says.
