We wish to thank Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne for the recently premiered Louisiana tourism campaign highlighting one of our state’s most enduring and treasured assets — music.
The campaign is extremely complimentary to all corners of the state, including New Orleans. The scenes shot include venues and/or musicians such as Roots of Music, Jeremy Davenport, Audubon Zoo swamp exhibit.
The state’s campaign also complements our city’s own marketing efforts by running in fly/drive markets in spring/fall, while our campaign will run in late spring and summer. With 80 percent of air travelers to Louisiana entering Louisiana through New Orleans, this will serve our hospitality industry well, which will mean more jobs created and more visitor spending for our state.
The state’s economy will be served well with these efforts, and the lieutennant governor and the Office of Culture, Recreation and Tourism are to be commended for their efforts.
