New Orleans — New Orleans police and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating two separate home invasions involving armed gunmen.
The most recent incident was reported early Monday morning in the 2000 block of Cypress Creek Road in Jefferson.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that a man and woman were at home when gunmen entered and gave them minor injuries. The incident was reported around 1:20 a.m.
In the second incident, two men and a woman were at a home in the 4800 block of Treves Street on Sunday night. They said two armed men burst into the home, bound the victims and then robbed them of cash. No injuries were reported.
New Orleans — New Orleans police are investigating two different rapes, one of which was on a university campus, while the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rape on Edenborn Avenue.
The New Orleans incidents were reported Friday and Saturday mornings.
The first incident was reported in the 2500 block of Ursulines Avenue. The victim reported that an ex-boyfriend raped her inside of her home.
No other information was released.
The next morning, police said a young woman was raped in a parking garage at Loyola University by a man she met earlier that night at a club.
The victim told police the incident happened in the 6300 block of St. Charles Avenue.
Police said the woman left the club with the man after dancing and drinking, and the attack happened on the way home.
Police are attempting to interview the man.
In Jefferson Parish, investigators are looking into a report of a rape in the 3500 block of Edenborn Avenue.
NEW ORLEANS — Police announced the arrest of the final suspect in a highly publicized French Quarter shooting that preceded Mardi Gras.
Malcolm Hall, 19, turned himself in to authorities Saturday afternoon. Hall is accused of participating with Deron Bridgewater, 23, and Brandon Brown, 21, in a Feb. 9 shooting that wounded four people. The shooting allegedly stemmed from an argument on the street.
New Orleans — Police are investigating shootings that left four victims wounded Sunday.
The most serious shooting occurred near the intersection of Danneel Street and Louisiana Avenue shortly after midnight.
The 36-year-old victim said a man walked up to him and asked for a cigarette. When the victim complied, another man armed with an assault rifle came from around a car and shot him multiple times.
The man was wounded in the arm, thigh and foot.
In another incident, a teenage girl who got into an argument at a fast-food restaurant on Canal Street said she was shot while walking away.
The girl said one of the people she argued with Sunday night followed her to the intersection of St. Louis Street and Crozat Street and shot her in the chest.
Police also investigated a shooting on Orleans Avenue where a man received two wounds to the hand, and another shooting on Martin Luther King Boulevard where a man was shot in the jaw.
New Orleans — Police are searching for gunmen who shot a 26-year-old man while he was sitting at traffic light Friday night.
The victim said he was in his vehicle at South Claiborne Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard around 9:25 p.m. The man said another vehicle pulled up on his passenger side, and the occupants began firing on him.
Police said the victim was shot in the arm and drove himself to the hospital.
