One Community, One School District, a group formed a year ago to oppose efforts to create a new Southeast Baton Rouge independent school district, is holding a public meeting Tuesday night to lay out how it hopes to defeat a renewed
push to create a Southeast district and perhaps other independent districts out of the East Baton Rouge Parish school system.
The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. at the Unitarian Church, 8470 Goodwood Blvd., in Baton Rouge.
The meeting will “discuss the negative impact of proposed breakaway districts, its efforts to fight them, and the ways in which concerned parents can get involved,” according to a news release from the group.
