A New Iberia woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista early Friday, State Police said in a release.
Laura Walker, 44, was a passenger in a 2004 Honda Accord that was stopped at a traffic light on U.S. 90 when a man driving a 2012 Dodge Ram slammed into the back of the Honda at 12:55 a.m. Friday, State Police said.
Both vehicles were eastbound.
Walker died at the scene, while three others in the Honda — driver Brandon Smith and passengers Willamae Collins and William Walker, all from New Iberia — sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a hospital, police said.
All four in the Honda were wearing seat belts.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, 22-year-old Bradley Jones, of Colfax, who was wearing a seat belt, was uninjured.
Toxicology tests were administered, and the accident remains under investigation, police said.
