FUN FACT:

Love that new book smell? This past Valentine’s Day, it was all about “Library Love” when trucks containing the opening day collection of new books rolled into the Fairwood Branch Library on Old Hammond Highway. Library staff and other helpers unloaded 29 pallets containing 1,123 boxes of books on a variety of subjects for readers of every age and interest to enjoy.

It only took four hours to get all 24,105 pounds of fresh new titles into the almost-finished building. The branch is expected to open in mid to late March.
