Roberts to speak
at coaching clinic

HAMMOND — Southeastern Louisiana University football coach Ron Roberts will be one of three NCAA Division I head coaches participating in the 50th annual Gulf Coast Coaching Clinic scheduled for Feb. 13-15 at Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Miss.

Roberts, who completed his first season at Southeastern in 2012, will be joined by Louisiana-Lafayette coach Mark Hudspeth and new Southern Miss coach Todd Monken. Other collegiate coaches scheduled to speak at the clinic include LSU assistants Brick Haley and Corey Raymond along with Ole Miss assistant Matt Luke.

Roberts will talk on “Defending the Spread Offense” at 4 p.m. Thursday and “Goal Line Offense and Doing the Unexpected” at 9 a.m. Friday.

Cajuns beat Pan Am in women’s tennis

EDINBURG, Texas — The Ragin’ Cajuns women’s tennis squad picked up its first dual match win of the spring season Sunday, defeating Texas-Pan American 5-2 at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.

The Cajuns (1-2) swept all three doubles matches to win the first point.

Juliette Clement, Bailey VanDyke, Sophie van den Aarssen and Didi Fatchikova each earned a singles win for ULL.

Hadnot sets La. Tech record in 200 meters

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Louisiana Tech junior Trey Hadnot ran a school record time of 20.81 seconds in the 200 meters late Saturday at the Tyson Invitational track and field meet at the Randall Tyson Track Center.

Hadnot’s time is tied for fourth in the nation this year.
