Cloudy skies greeted revelers at the Southdowns Mardi Gras parade rolled Friday night. The theme was Time Machine.

There is a slight chance of rain Saturday with a high temperature of 67 degrees for the Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade in downtown Baton Rouge.

Baton Rouge police will begin closing roads at 6 a.m. Saturday, said Baton Rouge Police Sgt. David Wallace.

Officers will begin patrolling the winding parade route at 6 a.m. to make sure no one is parked on the road. Barricades will be put up at about 9 a.m., or when foot traffic begins, Wallace said.

Garages downtown will be open for parking and revelers are encouraged to park only in legal parking spots, Wallace said. The River Center Branch Library will be closed Saturday because of the parade.
