Auto show fundraiser slated for Saturday

Some 100 cars are expected to be on display Saturday at the first Hearts a’ Fire car show at 625 S. Burnside Ave., Gonzales.

Hell on Heels Car Club spokeswoman Tashia Loots said the show is being held by the all-woman auto club to help pay the medical expenses of Junior Authement.

The event will feature food, drinks, a car competition, tattoo contest and 1950s-style pinup competition.

The car show starts at 9 a.m. in the Kiss My Lingerie parking lot, and the tattoo contest starts at 1 p.m., she said.

Women age 18 and older can compete in the pinup contest starting at 3 p.m., she said.

Awards will be given out starting at 4 p.m. in several categories, including Top 25 and best car, truck and motorcycle. There will also be best paint, engine, interior, ladies choice and people’s choice awards.

Vincent Buckles from the television show “Sons of Guns” is planned to assist in the awards ceremony, she said.
